1. Confirmed minutes of the previous meeting on 11 January 1944

2. Chairman invited comment on the views expressed at the previous meeting - comments made by Lord Cherwell, Professor Andrade, Professor Tyndall, Professor Robinson, and Professor Blackett and listed in minutes

3. ' After full consideration of the observations made it was agreed;
3i That in the item, ordinary expenditure, referred to in the minutes of the previous meeting, there should be included a sum sufficient to enable the universities to appoint an adequate number of research students
3ii That all allocations to meet extraordinary expenditure should be made out of an increased parliamentary grant in aid of scientific investigations, administered by the Royal Society.

4. The Assistant Secretary was instructed to obtain information under the following heads;
4i The location of the physics departments in Great Britain and Northern Ireland
4ii The number and amount of DSIR grants made to mathematics and physics students in the universities. '
