' Mr Osman the plumber being Sent to and desired to attend the committee concerning the Lead which he had Sent to be put upon the Engine house but was thought to be much too thick, and improper for that use, which he being desired to change, refused to do, and sent a very sawcy message reflecting on the Society and refusing to come, whereupon it was ordered that Mr Hauksbee do forthwith imploy some other plumber and that Dr Mortimer do draw up in writing a full account of this affair and acquaint the President with it, and likewise lay it before the council or Society, as he shall think proper.

The committee proceeded to examin the Vegetables to number 98.

Then they had severall draws brought down which contained Severall Seeds etc but finding them all in good order, with the names inscribed on the papers, they did not examin the particulars, but desired Dr Mortimer to take care to get them put in cases with glass on two sides and have the names fixed to the cases. '
