| Description | Gives the Committee's views on the National Food Policy. Urges that bread as the 'prime foodstuff of the working classes' should take priority in the food policy -- that its rationing should be avoided. Points out the more favourable reports on stocks of wheat from North America. Suggests mixing other cereals with wheat to extend bread supply and reducing the use of cereals as cattle food and in brewing -- points out problems in restricting bread quantity and regulating price -- urges economy in shipping space by limitations on use of paper, wood pulp and timber.
