Gives committee business -- signing of last meeting's minutes, a resolution 'that the Committee can see no physiological objection to the proposal to prohibit the baking of cakes, pastry and fancy biscuits' -- agreement of a report on the scheme of compulsory rations submitted by the Rationing Committee to the Ministry of Food -- agreement on the minimum average requirement of the heavy worker class at 3750 calories, and notes on Dunlop's work with convicts in Scotland to establish this figure -- agreement on the needs of Class 2 [sedentary workers] on the rationing scheme as 3250 calories -- agreement on the needs of Class 3 [adolescents] on the scheme as 3000 calories, with notes on research supporting this figure -- agreement on the needs of Class 4 & 5 -- adoption of a memo expressing the committee's views on Sir Arthur Yapp's voluntary ration scheme -- appointment of a sub-committee to deal with the question of fats used in soap and free fatty acids for human consumption -- appointment of a sub-committee to draw up a statement on the need for an adequate national food supply -- a resolution on the importance of meat as a form of protein and suggestions that 'cheap forms' be provided for the poorer classes. p156-162.
