Gives committee business -- the signing of the last meeting's minutes -- adoption of a memo from [F G] Hopkins on the artichoke as a source of carbohydrates -- adoption of the War Bread Medical Sub-Committee's report on the digestibility of breads --adoption of a memo from D Jordan Lloyd on the isolation of the bacteria causing rope in bread, and a report on the percentage extraction of wheat on yeast activity -- a letter from Gertrude Dixon [of the Wheat Commission] asking for advice on the proposal to use beans, peas and lentils in bread mixtures, and drafting of a response suggesting that cereal levels would be maintained, preventing need for this measure -- appointing of a section to deal with hospital diaries, at the request of D Noel Paton -- consideration of a memo by F G Hopkins on the food requirements of the working man -- adoption of a memo on 'The order of provision of foodstuffs' -- appointment of a sub-committee to consider the advisability of prohibiting sweets manufacture -- adoption of a report on fatty acids as a foodstuff. p218-234.
