2. An extract from a letter from Professor Anderson Stuart read

3. Letter read from Dr P L Sclater; resolved
3.1 No preliminary notice of the expedition to be sent to the press
3.2 Letter enquiring whether any precautions against infection would be made necessary in consequence of the occurrence of elephantiasis on Funfuti to be sent to Dr Foster

4. Proposed by Admiral Wharton to write to Sir J Thurston the Governor of Fiji for his support for the expedition; and by Professor David that the chairman to write to Mr Harry Wood, Under Secretary for Mines and Agriculture, for his efforts in connection with the loan of a drill in Sydney

5. Proposal by chairman, seconded by Sir John Evans and carried, that Professor Sollas to be regarded by the Committee as in charge and have final decision in all cases of primary importance

6. Resolutions passed;
6.1 Professor David, or failing him Mr Pitman the Government Geologist of New South Wales to accompany the expedition to Funafuti
6.2 Expedition members require Committee before publishing any scientific details of the investigation
6.3 Professor Sollas to provide for an equal distribution of cares as far as possible between the Committee and Sydney, wish some discretionary power
6.4 Professor David to return from Funafuti via Fijii as Foreman is taking responsibility for the drill from Sydney.
6.5 Diamonds to be mailed to Professor Sollas c/o Minister for Mines, and he have responsibility for them therafter
6.6 To request Royal Socity for an advance of £650 for buying diamonds, steel cutters, transport charges and other preliminary expenses, and opening an account at Messrs Robarts, Lubbock & Co in the name of the Committee; cheques to be signed by chairman and secretary and one other member of the Committee
6.7 Secretary and Professor Le Neve Foster to negotiate with Messrs Le Grand & Sutcliffe for 12 steel cutters for use with diamond drill
6.8 Food stores to be mostly obtained in Sydney but towing net (Tanner's) from Butan
6.9 Department of Mines at Sydney to be offered payment for drilling stores used by the expedition
6.10 The Penguin to carry out temperature observations and water collecting in the lagoon
6.11 Meteorological Council not to be applied to for instrument loan
6.12 First set of specimens to go to the British Museum, the second to Sydney
