After consideration, it was resolved that ' it be a recommendation to Council that Sir Owen Richardson's appointment as Yarrow Research Professor be terminated at 31 July 1944, on the ground that he has attained the age of 65; and that it be a further recommendation to Council to make such a grant as may be thought adequate to enable him to continue his work for at least a furhter year as from 1 August 1944.
