Considerd applications for a Mackinnon Research Studentship of £550 value from J W Bugler; A R Burkin; D R Chick; A von Engel; J W Gardner; L S Goddard; J W Kirk; R H Thomson, and resolved that ' no appointment to the Mackinnon REsearch Studentship be recommended at this meeting, but that the Studentship be again advertised in 'Nature' and that particulars be circulated to the heads of departments of physics, chemistry and engineering in the universities of the United Kingdom with a view to making an appointment early in the New Year.
