Matters discussed;
1. Read and signed minutes of the previous meeting

2. Explained by chairman that in accordance with the wishes of Council the terms of reference for the YYarrow Research Fund Committee had been amended ; ' To recommend appointments to the Yarrow and Messel Professorships and Studentships on the physical side, and to report from time to time upon the working of the regulations. '

3. Considered an application from Professor P Kapitza for leave to give advice on two research problems of the Research Department of the Electrical and Musical Industries. Application had been referred by the Committee to Council. Professor Kapitza gave evidence before the Committee, and after discussion, it was ' resolved that the Chairman draw up a report with the assistance of Sir Frank SMith and Mr Tizard for presentation to Council after approval by the Members fo the Committee. '

4. Committee interrogated Professor O W Richardson as to the condition of his work and it was resolved ' that the Committee should report to Council that the arrangements relating to Professor O W Richardson are satisfactory and need no modification. '

Pasted into the minutes is a printed minute of Council of 26 April 1934, where the Yarrow Committee presented their report, and it was resolved that ' the report be approved and adopted: and that Professor Kapitza be further informed that there is no objection to his giving advice to the firm in question or to any other firm, provided that he is not put under any obligation by so doing. '
