Letter read from the Treasury of 19 January 1889 concerning the completion of the Challenger Report. [transcript in minutes]
Secretary 'reported that he had informed Mr Murray of teh intended meeting of the Committee, and that Mr Churnley had, by direction of Mr Murray, sent copies of letters as follows; 1. Letter from John Murray of the Challenger Expedition Office, of 5 November 1888 confirming he cannot undertake to complet ehte Challenger Report as he thinks it shouldbe completed by next March; it would need £800 or £900 pounds mor and another year, to cover his salary and that of a clerk.
