In attendance: Mr Murray

Dr Murray reported that ' the three volumes mentioned inte Senior Secretary's letter to Dr Murray of 28 May 1889 had been published , that the 'Summary' would appear on 11 March, and that the specimens had been distributed in accordance with the terms of that letter, with the exception of a set of typical specimens of Deep Sea Deposits, which before beign despatched to the British Museum were awaiting certain arrangements to be made between Dr Murray and the Director. '

Agreed the Treasurer to ' apply to the Council for authority to pay Dr Murray the £500 still due to him - that the Secretary prepare for submission to the Council a draft letter to the Treasury stating that the duries fo the Royal Society in connection with the Report of the "Challenger" Expedition were now at an end but that the Royal Society would be willing if My Lords fo the Treasury desired it to advise them as regards the distribution of complete sets of the Report still on hand. '
