Letter read from the Treasury dated 26 May 1882 concerning further exploration in the Faroe Channel; resolved to write to the Treasury on the importance of the proposed investigation, offering to supply £160 from the Society, and assuring it that the expedition will not delay the main work of the Challenger publication.

Proofs of two title pages of the volumes for Zoology Vol. IV and NArrative Vol. II presented by Mr Murray and after discussion draft title page adopted.

President to write to the Treasury to say that, ' owing to them not having yet given any general sanction to the proposals stated in Mr Murray's report, the work of the Challenger publications was being seriously delayed, and requesting an early intimation of their views.'
