Resolved ' That (a) the terms of reference be 'to advise on matters connected with agricultural science and to report from time to time on the position of agricultural research and on the maintenance of liason between agricultural science and the parent sciences' and that (b) the Biological Secretary, in consultation with Dr C D Darlington and Professor F E Fritsch, be asked to nominate members to serve on the committee for confirmation at the next meeting of Council. '

' With reference to minute 5 of 17 May 1945, the nomination of members to serve on the Standing Committee on Agricultural Science was confirmed as follows;
Sir Josph Barcroft, Professor F T Brooks and Professor A C Chibnall - to retired 31 December 1946
Dr C D Darlington (Chairman), Mr JC F Fryer and Professor J Hammond to retire 31 Decembr 1947
Dr R G Hatton, Dr W G Ogg, and Professor D M S Watson to retire 31 December 1948
