DescriptionPresent at the Council: The Lord Bishop of Salisbury; Lord Brereton; Henry Howard of Norfolk; Mr Aerskine; Sir Anthony Morgan; Sir George Ent; Sir Philip Carteret; Dr John Wilkins; Mr Hoskyns; Mr Creed; Mr Henry Oldenburg

The business of Chelsey-College was discussed, and it was resolved;
1. Mr Cole to have £100 to secure the possession of the land and house of Chelsey College to the Society, during so much of the term of the lease of forty years granted to Mr Howard as is yet unexpired.
2. That the Agreement shall be executed before the passing of the seal for the reversion.
3. That all Mr Cole's Covenant and Bond shall be taken for Security.

Sir Paul Neile and Sir Anthony Morgan were asked to go to Mr Cole and inform him of these votes, which they did, and reported that he was satisfied with them.

Sir Anthony Morgan and Mr Hoskyns reported concerning the legal validity of the obligation subscribed by the Fellows of the Society, that the Statutes have already specified the penalty for non-observance, namely expulsion, that thereby other penalties are precluded.
