DescriptionPresent at the Council: The President, lord Brouncker; Bishop of Salisbury; Henry Howard of Norfolk; Mr Charles Howard; Mr AERskine; Sir Paul Neile; Sir Anthony Morgan; Sir George Ent; Dr John Wilkins; Mr Hayes; Mr Daniel Colwall; Mr Henry Oldenburg

The case of the conveyance of the ground given by Henry Howard of Norfolk, to build a college on for the Society, was again referred to Sir Anthony Morgan, who promised to act upon it.

Ordered that the Treasurer issue thirty pounds in part payment of the bills brought in by the workmen employed by the Council of the Society in making the house of Chelsey-college tenantable, and that the sum be delivered to Richard Shortgrave for that purpose.

Ordered that the Amanuensis present for audit the next Council day the whole account of the bills concerning the reparations of Chelsey-college.

Ordered that the President be desired to signify to the Society, that, considering the paucity of the experiments at their public meetings, the Council wish to appoint a Medal, of at least the value of twenty shillings, to be made for every Fellow, not Curator by office, for every experiment which the President or Vice-president has approved of. And that the President be asked to consult with Mr Slingsby about the impress of such a medal.

Ordered that Lord George Berkely and the Lord Bishop of Salisbury be asked to speak in the House of Peers to the Bishops that are of the Society, for contributions to the building of the College.

Ordered that the President and Henry Howard of Norfolk be asked to speak with the Temporal Lords that are of the Society, for the same purpose.

Henry Howard of Norfolk was happy to take a list of several lords and gentlemen to solicit their contributions for the College.

The President and Dr Wilkins promised to meet to speak to Mr Mattew Wren and Mr Williamson for contributions.

The President undertook to solicit Sir Robert Paston and Sir Cyril Wyche for contributions.

Mr Colwall subscribed one hundred pounds for the building.

The Council licenced Dr Wilkins book, entitled 'An Essay towards a Real Character and Philosophical Language'.

The Council licenced Number 34 of the Philosophical Transactions.

Ordered the Amanuensis to have bound a book in folio, with vellum leaves, to contain the names of the benefactors to the Society and the particulars of their donations.

Ordered the Curator complete the printed List of the Collection, bestowed on the Socierty by Mr Daniel Colwall, and that the list be inserted in the next edition of the Society's 'History'.
