DescriptionPresent at the Council: The President, Lord Brouncker; The Bishop of Salisbury; Henry Howard of Norfolk; Sir George Ent; Dr John Wilkins; Mr Daniel Colwall; Mr John Creed; Mr Henry Oldenburg

The President moved that to improve receipt of weekly contributions, letters to be written to all such as are in arrears, and not of the nobility, asking them to attend the Council on certain days to be nominated, and to declare their resolutions concerning the payment of their arrears.

Ordered that Mr Oldenburg draw up a Form for such Letters by the next Council.

Resolved that the President, the Lord Berkeley, the Lord Bishop of Salisbury, Henry Howard of Norfolk, and Dr Wilkins to take all opportunities to solicit the contributions of the Lords for building the College; and the President to give notice the night before to the rest of this committee when he can attend that business.

It was suggested that Dr Louys du Moulin was willing to translate the History of the R. Society into Latin, and that it was necesssary to hasten this translation, for fear it should be done in Holland to the prejudice of the author. Therefore it was ordered that Mr Oldenburg should be asked to speak to Mr Martyn, and to let him know that the Council approved of Dr du Moulin and that he should agree with him about payment, and pay it.

The President mentioned that Mr Collins had received a Mathematical book from Mr Gregory from Padua by post which had cost him eighteen shillings.

Ordered the Treasurer pay Mr Collins eighteen shillings for the book sent by post from Padua entitled 'Geometria pars universalis, Quantitatum Curvarum transmutationi et mensurae inferviens' author Iac. Gregorio, and that he deliver this book to the Curator to be put into the Society's library.

The Amanuensis commanded to hasten the vellum book, for registering the benefactors of the Society, and their several donations.

Mr Hook was put in mind of completing the list of the Arundelian Library, as also of perfecting the list of Mr Colwall's collection of Curiosities.

Sir Anthony Morgan to be reminded by the Secretary to draw up a Deed of Conveyance, securing Mr Howard's donation of ground for building a college.
