The Earl of Salisbury, Dr King and Mr Creed were sworn to the Council

Dr Wren and Mr Lock remain still to be sworn

The busines of the Legal tie for the discharge of the weekly payments was debated, and referred to the next Council meeting, as the Bishop of Chester and Sir Robert Moray wished to consider it further in private.

Chelsey College; Mr Charles Howard was asked to think of a fit tennant for it and propose a suitable candidate at the next Council meeting.

Dr Ball and Mr Hook were asked to finish the Catalogue of the Society's Library within the Holy days approaching.

Mr Oldenburg asked the Council form Mr Henshaw that they would lend him for a few weeks, out of the Society's Library, a Manuscript of Ireneus for a friend of his upon security. It was therefore ordered in general;
" That all those who shall have granted to them by the Council the loan of any of the books belonging to the Arundelian Library bestowed on the Royal Society by Henry Lord Howard of Norfolk shall oblige themselves by a Bond of one hundred pounds sterling (to be given to the President, Council and Fellows of the Royal Society) to restore the same within the time to be respectively prefixt, entire, undefaced and unblotted. "

And also ordered in particular;
" That Mr Hook deliver to Mr Thomas Henshaw out of the Arundelian Library, bestowed on the Royal Society by Henry Lord Howard of Norfolk, the Manuscript of Ireneus, upon the said Thomas Henshaw's sealing a Bond to the President, Council and Fellows of the said Society, of one hundred pounds sterling, and delivering the same to Mr Henry Oldenburg for their use, and thereby obliging himself to restore the said Book entire, undefaced and unblotted within the Space of two months from the time of the Receipt thereof. "
