Mr Balle promised £100 sterling to the Society as a paresent to be paid in before the next first of April, and presented them also with an iron chest, having locks and keys.
Ordered Sir Anthony Morgan to examine the Statutes of the Society and to communicate them to the rest of the new Members fo the Council, and upon joint consideration, to make a report to the Council. Sir Anthony accordingly took the Statute book home with him.
Ordered that Mr Hook show the Compressing-Engine to some intelligent and honest workman, ask what it may be worth and to bring a report in at the next meeting of the Council.
Ordered that Dr Wren be desired to make an estimate of the charges of a plain weather clock, such as he has himself devised, and to consider the easiest way to put it into practice.
Ordered that the Secretary bring in a list of the names of all the benefactors of the Society, together with their donations, and the time when they promised them.
Ordered that the Benefactors be registered, in loose vellum-sheets.
Ordered that Dr Goddard provides a press for the use of the Society.
Ordered that Mr Palmer consult Mr Ellis whether the Charter of the Society sufficiently empowers the Council for granting Licence to their printers to print such books as shall be committed to them by the Society concerning their design and work. |
