DescriptionPresent at Council; Lord Brouncker, Mr Howard, Sir Robert Moray, Sir Anthony Morgan, Mr Aerskine, Mr Balle, Dr Wilkins, Dr Goddard, Dr Whistler, Mr Palmer, Mr Hill, Mr Colwall, Mr Oldenburg

Discussed the validity of the election of Dr Dacres as Geometry Professor at Gresham College, as information had been provided that the Lord Mayor of London was not present at the committee though he had carried the election by a casting vote. Ordered that Dr Wilkins, Mr Palmer and Mr Colwall be asked to consult Mr Ellis about this, how it may be redressed to do justice to Mr Hook, who had five votes whereas Dr Dacres had but four, without that of the Lord Mayor. They need to find out whether the Lord Mayor was nominated one of the Committee, or else, whether he was by custom authorised to be always of every committee if he pleased to be so.

Sir Robert Moray informed the Council that the Petition fo the Grant of Chelsey College had been presented to his Majesty, and that Secretary Bennet was to receive his Majesty's order for a refeence upon it.

Ordered that Dr More be excused from all payments till further order.

Ordered that Dr Pell be still excused from all payments till further order.

Ordered that the Keepr of the Repository do not allow anything to be removed without a written order.
