' Sir John Hoskins propounded a particular of an Estate neer Rawley in Essex which was read and debated whether it were fitt to be purchased by this Society. It was bvalued at £86 pre Annum and there was demanded for it £1400 which is about 17 years Purchase. It was thereupon resolved that Dr Wood should be consulted with and desired to procure such an Information concerning the same as the Councill might thereupon ground their further proceeding about it. To this end Sir John Hoskins was desired to write this day to Dr Wood to this Effect.

Mr Hill also proposed a Fee Farm Rent payable from Monmouth of £40 per Annum and somewhat more, which was thought fit to be further considered of when an Account concerning the former shall be returned.

It was further discoursed whether it were not the best way for the Society to lay out their Stock in purchasing Actions in the African Company or in some other Company if neither of the former ways shall be thought fitt to be proceeded with. '
