' A Proposal was made by Mr Higgs of a House in Westminster, partly held by Leases from the Crown and partly of the Dean and Chapter of Westminster under a small Rent. He asked three thousand pounds for these Leases. This was thought a Situation too remote for several Members of the Society to be a fit place for their Meetings.

The President reported that he and several Members of the Committee had been to view the late Dr Brown's House, and found it very convenient for the Society.

Then the Question was put, Whether they agreed to buy the Interest of the late Dr Brown's House at fourteen hundred and fifty pounds.

This Question was Ballotted for, and twelve Votes were for it and one against it.

The former Committee appointed the 8th of September last, four of them to be the Quorum, was appointed to contract for, and purchase the House of the late Dr Brown and the adjoining little House for a Summe not exceeding 1450 pounds, not including the Repairs; and seeing the Deeds and Writings prepared to be perfected, and the House fitted up for the Reception of the Society, with all necessary Expedition.

Thsi was Ballotted for, and passed in the Affirmative; twelve Affirmatives were for it, and one Negative against it. '
