' The Council taking into consideration the great Backwardness in several of the members in the payment of the weekly Contributions and the large Arrears due thereupon, having ordered an Exact list to be laid before them, of all the fellows, both of the Gentlemen that constantly pay, of these that are more then one year in Arrears and yet probably are willing to pay upon proper application to them, and of those which either never paid, are much in arrears or Refuse to pay, upon due deliberation came to the following Resolution -
Resolved that it was the opinion of the Council, That it was of absolute necessity for the carrying on the ends of the Societies Institution, That the payments of the members be regularly and constantly made at least every Year. and That the Arrears due from the members be by any practicable methods got in, Whereupon it was Ordered, That Letters be sent to all these members in more then one Years Arrears the last Michaelmas to give them Notice of the Said Arrears, with Notice of the Person Mr Alban Thoms Authorised by the Treasurer to receive the said Arrears.

Ordered, That Letters be sent to all these Gentlemen who are considerably in arrears, and upon Application to them have either deferred their payments without any reason or have absolutely refused paying their said Arrears, to give them Notice that if the said Arrears are Not by them dischaged between this time and Michaelmas next ensuing, Their Bonds will be put in suit against them the next terme following except good Cause can be shewn to the contrary.

That these Letters be sent to the Executors of several Members of the Society deceased giving them Notice of the Arrears due, and that upon failure of payment Their Bonds will be put in Execution as before particularly those of Mr Haynes Dr Grew and Dr Thomson.

The draught of a Letter was produced by Mr Waller to be sent to such of the members who having given Bond for payment of their Contribution, have either willfully neglected their said payments or absolutely refused to pay them when they were demanded.

Which Letter was aproved off and ordered to be sent to the Gentlemen following - Mr Emmet, Mr Clavel, Dr Harries, Mr Savery, Mr Stubs, Mr Brigstock, Mr Shaw

Ordered that a Civil letter be sent signed by one of the Secretaries giving Notice of their Arrears and the person appointed to receive them Viz. Dr Bentley, Dr Plumptre, Mr Arthington, Mr James Bridges, Mr Moreland, Mr Eyres, Mr Frankland, Mr Venables, Mr Moult, Mr Hammond, Dr Bower. '
