' Mr Bussiere took the Oath as a member of the Council for this year.

The Council being informed that Mr Higginson and Mr Savile waited to propose Something about the renewing of a Lease of one of the Society's houses in Coleman Street now in the possession of Mr Higginson, they were called in.

Mr Higginson Said that his mother Mrs Higginson ordered him to acquaint the Council that she had pursuant to a Clause in her present Lease which is to expire next Christmass, given the Society a years Notice that she intended to renew her Lease whereby She is entitled to the benefit of a New Lease graunted her for any term not exceeding 21 years. But that Since She Sent that Notice she had an immediate Call to go abroad to the Indies whereby she can not dwell in the said house her self, and shall be at too great a distance to take care of it; and for that reason has made over her right and Interest in the Said Lease to Mr Thomas Savile the Gentleman there present. Whereupon She desires the President and Council to acquitt her if they think fit of the Obligation of the Said Lease and to accept of Mr Thomas Savile for a Tenant in her room. He also added that She would be glad to have her present Lease cancelled at Lady day next to which time She would pay the rent, and that the new Lease to Mr Savile might commence at the Same time.
Mr Savile also joyned the Same request and offeed that he would be ready to comply with the Conditions of a new Lease of the Same form and purport with the old, that is for Seven years to come from Lady day next with a Liberty to renew upon a years Notice before hand for any Term not exceeding 14 years and then they both withdrew.

After some debate it was Resolved that the old Lease granted by Dr Paget to Mrs Higginson which is to expire at Christmas next, Shall be cancelled upon payment of the rent due at Lady day next.

Resolved That Mr Thomas Savile be accepted as a Tenant insteed of Mrs Higginson and that a Lease be granted him for Seven years to commence from Lady day next with a power of renewing it for any Term not exceeding fourteen years and under all the Same covenants and Conditions exprest in the old Lease granted by Dr Paget to Mrs Higginson.

And it was ordered That Mr Thomas give Notice to Mr Frewin to look over and examine the draught that Shall be made in the Same form with the old Lease tht he may give his report accordingly to the Council before it be executed.

Then Mr John Miles and Mr Abraham Vater were recommended for Candidates, and were accordingly apporoved by ballot. {adjourned to February 15, 1721 when the aforementioned Lease was executed) '
