' The President was pleased to sign an order for the payment of the Gratuity given Mr Aston of sixty pounds by an order of Councell of December 16th, 1685.

An adresse of Mr Papin was read desiring his Arrears of Salary by reason of his being about to leave England in order to be Professor of Mathematicks in the University of Marpurg.

It appearing to this Councell that the debts of the Societie are such that they cannot otherwise be satisfied : it is Ordered tht their Stock in the East Indie Company be sold, and that Mr Hill advise the best he can do speedily.

The President signed an order for the Payment of sixty pounds to Mr Hook which was ordered him on the 16th June 1686.

Ordered that Mr Papin have twenty two pounds ten shillings paid him in full of all Accounts, being three quarters Salary. And the President signed an order accordingly. '
