Mr Eames, Mr Mann and Mr Wray were sworn of the Council.

The President informed the Council that he had Received from the Executors of the late Sir George Saville Bart. the Sum of fifty pounds bequeathed as a Legacy to the Society,; and which he had caused to be paid accordingly to the Treasurer for the Societies use. Whereupon it was Ordered that Sir George Savile's Name Shall be registred and inserted in the List of the Benefactors to the Society.

The President said That the Honourable Dr Coote Molesworth, having been abroad in Minorca, during the time the Members had a priviledge of compounding for their Contributions and Arrears ; and desirous of partaking of the Same Benefit, he had received from him eht eSum of Twenty five pounds for that purpose, and paid it to Mr Hauksbee ; which being approved; It was Ordered That his Bond should be delivered up. And the Same was accordingly delivered to Dr Mortimer to be delivered to him.

Mr Hopson Apothecary, the Society's Tenant in Colemen Street, came with a request that the Coulncil ould appoint Some impartial person to Survey the repairs done by their Carpenter Mr Gwyn ; that it may appear upon the report how far they answer to the Articles of agreement with the Society; Especially with regard to the repairs of the Chimnies to Cure their Smoaking, and the new Leading of the Gutters, and that it may appear how far the Society ought in reason to make good the damages done by their workman in the Course of his Work, Especially in the breaking of the Ceilings, and in breaking the Leaden Water Pipes. And at the Same time he gave in an Estimate signed by two workmen, of all the Charges that will accrew in mending the faults in the Several Stacks of Chimnies, and in making good the Tiling in a workman like manner, amounting in all to twelve pounds. And then he made a proposal to make good the Chimnies and other repairs that are wanting at his own charge, upon Condition The Council will think fitt to allow him the Sum of Twelve pounds, and takes off such parts of his Billl with the Carpenter, as Shall be adjudged upon a Survey to belong to them.

Or if they will think fit to pay the whole Bill, and permit the things to be Scheduled to the House, He then would be at thje Charge of the repairs that are wanting, without any Allowance otherwise he Said he must be obliged to quit the House.

Mr Gwyn the Carpenter being called in and informed of the Articles of the charge relating to himself, the Council upon hearing what he Said were of Oppinion : that the chief matters in dispute did not properly come before them, but were of a private Nature between the Tenant and the Workman. However, after they were withdrawn, the ounil agreed to make up an Offer of Eight pounds to Mr Hopson for him to make good the reapairs ; which when he was called in, was accordingly done ; But, He not being Satisfied therewith refused to accept of it.

The Treasurer produced five East India Bonds of £100 Eachof which the Interest had been paid to the 30th of September last, and the Same were Ordered to be put up in the Strong Box; which wa accordingly done.

Ordered that Dr Parsons as Reader of the Croonian Lecture for the present Year, be paid the last rent received from Lady Sadlers House being £7.10.9.

Ordered that a new Padlock and key be procured for the Strong Box, of a different make from the other Padlock, that one key may not open both.

A motion being made in favour of Mr Bernard that the Soxiety would allow him some time at present for the Payment of his Arrears.

It was Ordered That Mr Bernard Shall allowed three months in consideration of his having applied on account of some difficulties in his Affairs.

Mr Gwyns bill for work done at Mr Hopsons House amouinting to £53.17.3; and his bill for work done at Mr Pestills House amounting to £114.5.0 were agreed to be allowed upon the abatement of the Odd money in each
