The minutes of the last Council were read.

Dr Mortimer reported in the name of the Auditors of the Treasurers Accompts on the part of the Council ; That they met by Summons at the Presidents House on the 24th Instant, when the Accomps and vouchers for the year preceding that day being laid before them, it appeared upon the audit that the Receipts amounted to £654.18.10 1/2, The payments £630.18.5 1/4 and the ballance now remaining in the Treasurers hands to be £24.99.5 1/4.

The President laid before the Council three more of the new Guarde books Numbered 3. 4. and 5. containing the papers read at the Several meetings of the Society from the 9th of December 1742 to the 25th of November 1743.

The Council ordered their thanks to be recorded, for the Service done to the Society in this new Regulation of the Papers ; Bur more Especially desired to tewtify their gratitude to the President for all the great care he has been at in the new fitting up of the lower Library ; and for the Singular mark of his favour in being at the pains of making out that Exact and regular Catalogue of all the books in it, which he lately made them a present of.

The Painters bill for work done about the House amounting to £7.7.6 ; and also a bill for Some new chairs amounting to £2.11.0 were both pereused, agreed to, and Ordered to be paid.

The Treasurer informed the Council, that he had lately received from the College of Physicians, the Share of the rent which wa due from them.

The President Said that as the Society was now in Cash, it would be proper to revive the Cronian [Croonian] Lecture, And therefore he would appoint Dr Parsons for the Lecturer for the present year, pursuant to the power given him by the will.
