The minutes of the two last Councils of May 2d and June the 11th were read.

The President proposed a Gratuity of £60 to each of the two Secretaries for their last years Service, which being agreed to was Ordered.

The following Bills were also Ordered to be paid; Viz.
Mr Zollman's Salary of --- £10.0.0
Mr Hauksbee's bill of ----- £34.11.6
Mr Gwyn the Carpenters bill ---- £8.6.11
Mr Downer the Bricklayers bill ---£2.1.5
The Presidents bill of Expenses --- £4.6.6.6


The President acquainted the Council, That the Reverend Mr Swinton having tendered £25 to have leave to take up his bond ; he thought it most adviseable to accept of the Same ; and had accordingly caused his Bond to be delivered and the mone to be received ; which being approved of by the Council, they returned their thanks to the PResident for the Same.

The President acquainted the Council ; That Sir Hans Sloane Bart having desired that Dr Brown Langrish might be appointed the Lecturer for the Croonian Lecture in the ensuing Year 1747 he accordingly recommended him to that chair for that year. And at the Same Time took occation to observe, that as the deficiency in the fund for the payment of the Lecture, which occationed no appointment for the present year, had been Since made up ; he therupon thought fit to recommend to them Dr Parsons as a proper Person to read the Lecture which was wanting for the present year.

He further informed the Council that Sir Hans Sloane, the Surviving Trustee of Sir Godfrey Copley's Benefaction, had desired him to inform then, that he had appointed the Gold Prize Medal for the year 1746 to be given to Mr Robins, upon account of the Experiments he had made concerning Projectiles ; And that therefore it would bre proper to order a Medal to be taken out of the Strong Box to have the name and year put upon it, which being accordingly done, the Same was delivered to the President for that purpose.

A Committee was appointed for Auditing the Treasurers Accompts on the part of the Council for the present year, Namely, the three following Gentlemen, Severally nproposed by the President, and agreed to by Ballot.

Dr James Jurin, Nicholas Mann Esq, and William Jones Esq. And the President and one of the Secretaries, according to the Statutes.
