' Mr Hadley, Mr West and Mr Eames were Elected Auditors on the part of the Council to be joined with the President and one of the Secretarys in a Committee for Auditing the TreasurersAccompts for the year ending at St Andrews Day 1731.

The President communicated a Letter designed to be Sent to Mr Brigstoke which was to acquaint himin pursuance of the Orders of the last Council That he might have Liberty to take up his Bond, upon the payment of Ten Guineas against the 1st of January next which Letter was approved.

Dr Stacks Bill of £6..2..10 was agreed to be Ballot and Ordered to be paid.

His Grace the Duke of Richmond informed the Council That the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Lorrain had agreed together to Visit the Society very Shortly at one of their Ordinary Meetings, and that he Therefore thought fit to give the Notice of it, that the Society might prepare themselves in Time with a Suitable Entertainment for them.

His Grace had the Thanks of the Council for this timely communication.

This matter being taken into consideration, the President proposed that one part of the Entertainment Should be employed in the performance of Dr Frobenius's new Experiments in Chemistry with his Phlogiston and Phosphorus.

And that the other part should consist of Mr Stephen Grey's new Experimente on Electricity. Which proposal was agreed to and the Same were Ordered.

Ordered That Mr Godfrey, Mr Theobald and Mr Rand be a Committee to Superintend the Works necessary for the preparation of the Chemical Experiment, and That the yard and Repository be laid out for that purpose.

Ordered That Mr Hauksbee Adjust the Library Room for the Trial of the Electrical Experiments.

Mr Gale took Notice that no Experiment had been yet Offered on Sir Godfrey Copley's foundation, for the present year; And therefore he proposed That the Experiment to be tried by Mr Grey on this occation might be Entered on that Foot, as an Encouragement to him for the readiness he has always Shewn in obliging the Society with his discoveries and improvements in this part of Natural Knowledge upon which the President who is appointed by the will the Director of this Experiment agreeing to the Same the reward was Accordingly Ordered and appointed for this Experiment.

The Mischiefs which Sometime happen by Fire for want of Speedy help being Taken into Consideration, it was Ordered That a Small portable Fire Engin of Mr Newshams Invention be procured for the use of the House. And That Mr Eames and Mr Theobald be impowered to Treat and make a Bargain with Mr Newsham for Such a one as in their best direction will be most propoer for the Societies Use. '
