' A Letter was read from Mr Thomas Frewin Executor to the late Frewin Sollicitor to the Society, serving to tender an account of ten pounds two shillings due for Service done.
Which Sum being put to the Ballot wa approved and ordered to be paid.
A Treatise concerning Mineral Waters by Dr Short was shewn, and refered to Doctor Mortimer, to consider if it might deserve an Imprimatur.
Doctor Mortimer made a Report of the progress by the Committee for inspecting the Repository : and represented from them that it would be of Service in preserving the things to have a Chimney built, and that two oval windows would be very necessary to afford a proper Light to the Room.
Ordered, that the Committee be impowered to treat with workmen to make those conveniences.
The Carpenter's bill amounting to £46.3.9 was tendered and perused : but it being the opinion of the Committee that the work was bad, and the rates extravagant ; it was referred to the Treasurer to appoint a workman to examine the work and tax the bill : and
Ordered that he be impowered to discharge the bill, according to the rate it shall be taxed at.
The Locksmith's bill of £4 : 18 : 2 being likewise represented from the Committee as overrated, it was referred to the Treasurer to be discharged upon examination, as the former.
The following bills being severally put to the Ballot and approved, were ordered to be paid.

The Bricklayer's bill ..... £1 : 01 : 3
The Plummer's bill ..... £4 : 15 : 7
The Bookbinder's bill ..... £3 : 17 : 9
It being represented that Mr Hauksbee's Servant Thomas Green had given constant attendance on the Committee during their meetings, and been of service to them ; a gratuity of two pound two Shillings was ordered him for the present.
Doctor Stack laid before the Council the Index which he has made, in pursuance of an Order of Council, for the several papers in the Journal, Register and Letter Books : but one of the Columns not being yet filled up, it was ordered that he be paid at present ten Guineas for his trouble, and that he shall have ten Guineas more when it is completerd. ' |
