' Dr Halley took the Oath as Vice President

Mr Hanbury, Mr Dugood, Dr Nicholls, Mr Gray and Mr Samuel Clarke were Severally put to the Ballot and approved for Candidates.

Dr Rutty delivered a Message from Mr Zollman who being obliged to attend the Congress at Soissons, desired the Council to accept of Dr Dillenius in his Stead to carry on the foreign Correspondence during his absence. And also to grant that a Minute of the Council might be taken to reinstate him at his return.

Which matter being taken into Consideration it was Ordered That Dr Dillenius be the Person appointed to carry on the Foreign Correspondence during pleasure

Ordered That the Treasurer pay Mr Zollman or his order the Sum of Twenty pounds for his past Services.

Ordered That Sir John Fortescue be consulted for his Opinion on the following Question -
Whether it be in the power of the Society to constitute any new officer not Nominated in the Charter.

Ordered That the Duplicate Copies of the Journals to be lodged in the Hands of the President be bound in rough Leather and Lettered in the fashion of the Original Ones. '
