' It was represented, that many foreign Members of the Society, who reside in London, would be willing to pay their Contributions and give Bond, on condition their Names might be inserted in the English List. whereupon a Question being put to the Ballot, it was agreed to.
The following Bills were put to the Ballot, and ordered to be paid : The Glazier's Bill November 26 . 1737 .....£1.0.1. The Printer's Bill .....£5.8.4. Mr Keill's Bill .....£4.4.0.
Complaint being made of some Irregularities in the form of some Certificates for the quaification of Candidates, the Statutes therunto relating were read. And it was ordered, that for the future the Certificates should be perused and examined in point of Form by one of the Secretareies, before they are delivered in.
Mr Richardson the Society's new Tenant in Crane - Court, came to represent that upon examination he finds the Chimneys to be very smoaky, and therefore presumed that the Society would in this new fitting up of the House think it reasonable to rectify that Inconveniency at their Charge. Which Representation being considered, it was referred to Mr West.
Complaint being made of a Wind from the Windows in the meeting Room, which is very incommodious to the Members, who sit with their backs towards it : it was ordered that Mr Gwyn the Carpenter view it, and consider of a proper Remedy for that Inconvenience. ' |
