The President, Lord Charles Cavendish, Sir John Evelyn Bart., Sir James Lowther Bart, Mr Hadley, Mr Mann, Mr Jones, Mr West, Mr Graham, Mr Burrow, Mr Eames, Mr Hodgson, Dr Mortimer, Mr machin.

Sir John Evelyn Bart, not having been sworn last year, took the Oath as Member of the Council : as likewise took the Oath as Vice - President.

The President delivered in a List of the Journal, Register and Letter Books he had receied from the late President Sir Hans Sloane Bart., with an acknowledgment of his having received the same into his Custody.

The President acquainted the Council that he had spoken with his Majesty's Master of the Mint in the Tower, the Honourable Mr Arundel, and had obtained a Promise from him, that he would be ready to issue out the proper Orders for striking of the Medal, whensoever notice should br given to him from the Society.

It being represented that severeal Members of the Society would be willing to subscribe for some of th Silver Medals ; it was ordered that inistead of one Dozen ordered in the last Council, so many should be ordered to be struck as might be thought sufficient to answer the demands of the Society.

Mr Tanner the Engraver at the Mint being called in, and examined about the Weight and Fineness of the Medals, said that Medals were always made of fine Gold and Silver, and might be certified as such, if required, from the Mint and that the Gold Medals at present directed would weigh one Ounce two Pennyweights, and the Silver one Ounce three Pennyweights.

Whereupon it was ordered that the Silver Medals should be prized to such Members as were desirous to subscribe for the same at £10.6.
And that the Number of thirteen Gold Medals should be ordered to be struck at first.

Mr Tanner's Bill amounting to the Sum of fifty five Pounds, that is £50 for the graving of a pair of Dyes, and £5 for a Proof piece of a Gold Medal, was delivered in : and being agreed to was ordered to be paid.

The President saying he was desirous to keep one of the Gold Medals for his own Use, it was ordered that he might have liberty to purchase one of the Treasurer.

A little box being produced out of Doctor Mortimer's Closet, there was found therein the Writings relating to the Lincolnshire Estate.

Ordered that Dr Bentley be writ to concerning his Arrears.

Ordered that Mr Byrom have liberty to take up his Bond and be discharged from Contributions, upon the payment of ten Guinea's.

Ordered that Mr Hauksbee make out the accounts of the Arrears, and send them forthwith to Lord Cowper, Lord Gage, the Earl of Essex, Lord Hope, Lord Cardross and Lord Delaware.

Ordered that Mr Hauksbee write out the accounts, and send them to all Members above two years in Arrears.

Ordered that Mr Watson have liberty to take up his Bond upon the payment of twenty Guinea's.

Ordered that Mr Gibbs and Mr Fawconer have liberty to take up their Bonds upon making up their payments to the Sum of £25.

Ordered that the Solicitor write to Mr Strachey, Dr Charles Stuart, Mr Swinton and Sir Marmaduke Wyvill Bart. to discharge their Arrears.

Ordered that it be referred to some other Council to consider of the Cases of Edmund Allen Esq, Sir Alexander Cuming Bart., Walter Jeffreys Esq, Henry Popple Esq and Mr John Warburton.

Ordered likewise that the particular Cases of Dr Graeme and Mr Stone be referred to some other Council. '
