DescriptionPrinted minutes containing matters laid before Council, the Royal Society's governing body of Fellows, with records of decisions taken.

Commencing with a list of Council members present: Francis Baily; John George Children; Benjamin Gompertz; George Bellas Greenough; Charles Konig; William George Maton; William Hasledine Pepys; Peter Mark Roget; Reverend Richard Sheepshanks; the Treasurer, John William Lubbock, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Treasurer reported on sale of stock, producing £2,174 17s. 6d. The Duke of Buccleuch applied for an extension to his admission to the Fellowship, granted. The Observations on Tides to be printed as an appendix to Philosophical Transactions, with 100 copies made available to Mr. Lubbock. George Biddell Airy requested volumes of Maskelyne's Greenwich Observations, to aid in reductions of planetary observations made by Bradley, Maskelyne and Pond, granted. Application to be made to the Admiralty for copies of the Nautical Almanac to help Mr. Dessiou.
