DescriptionPrinted minutes containing matters laid before Council, the Royal Society's governing body of Fellows, with records of decisions taken.

Commencing with a list of Council members present: Francis Baily; Captain Francis Beaufort; Marc Isambard Brunel; John George Children; Samuel Hunter Christie; William Clift; Benjamin Gompertz; Joseph Henry Green; George Bellas Greenough; Charles Konig; William Hasledine Pepys; Peter Mark Roget; Reverend Richard Sheepshanks; John William Lubbock, Vice President and Treasurer, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Letter from R. M'Culloch, Honorary Secretary of the Arctic Land Expedition, expressing thanks for a donation. Letter from Dr. Robert Lee, requesting that 750 copies of the plates from his paper on the structure of the placenta, granted. One set of Rumford Medals to be struck off. Treasurer to request copies of Reports of the Committees of the House of Commons, from the Speaker. Remaining copies of Sir Humphry Davy's Discourses to be sold to Fellows, for three shillings. Parts of the Philosophical Transactions 1800-1827 granted to the Geological Society. Report of the Medals Committee on the nomination and award of the Royal Medals. All resolutions of Council to be printed. Thanks given to Mr. Hudson for the report on the adjudication of medals and 20 guineas offered to him. Vacancies in the Foreign List of Members to be filled up, Members of Council to be requested to make nominations.
