DescriptionPrinted minutes containing matters laid before Council, the Royal Society's governing body of Fellows, with records of decisions taken.

Commencing with a list of Council members present: John George Children; Samuel Hunter Christie; Davies Gilbert; Peter Mark Roget; Captain William Henry Smyth; the Treasurer, Francis Baily, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Treasurer's report, communicating with the President on the recovery of his sight, graciously received by the Duke of Sussex. Report of the auditors of ther Treasurer's accounts. Resolved that Council would give Royal Medals to the most important unpublished papers in astronomy and in physiology. Council agreed their report on annual proceedings to be read at the Anniversary Meeting.
