Among matters discussed or noted: minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Sir Frederick Pollock made and subscribed to the Declaration in lieu of the oath as a new Member of Council. The last part of the Philosophical Transactions for 1853 was tabled, and the late Secretary, Mr. Bell, explained the causes of its late publication; resolved that the Secretary, in cases of undue delay, shall state to the author the time by which the proofs must be returned to the printer for press; in the event of non-complaince, the paper cannot appear in the part of Transactions then being prepared. On the motion of Mr. Bell, seconded by Mr. Christie, Walter White's salary was increased to £150 per annum. |
