Treasurer announced the bequest of £1,500 by Sir Walter Trevelyan. £30 from the Donation Fund awarded to Sir William Thomson towards the cost of a machine for solving simultaneous linear equations, The manuscript of John Aubrey's Natural History of Wiltshire loaned to the British Museum for one month on the application of Mr. Carruthers. Letter from Fleeming Jenkin suggesting that a portion of the Government Grant might be applied to the repayment of expenses incurred in independent research: Professor Jenkin to be informed that present regulations did not preclude this and the substance of this resolution to be passed to the Government Grant Sub-Committees for inclusion in the circular to applicants. Letter from the tenant at Mablethorpe asking for a reduction in rent referred to the Treasurer.
