Commencing with a list of Council members present: William Grylls Adams; Thomas Clifford Allbutt; Sir Robert Stawell Ball; Thomas George Bonney; John Cleland; Robert Bellamy Clifton; James Alfred Ewing; Michael Foster; Sir Edward Frankland; Alfred Bray Kempe; John Newport Langley; Joseph Larmor; Nevil Story Maskelyne; Raphael Meldola; Edward Bagnell Poulton; Arthur William Rucker; William James Russell; Dukinfield Henry Scott; The Treasurer, Sir John Evans; Walter Frank Raphael Weldon; the President, Lord Lister, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted:
1. Minutes of the last meeting read and approved.
2. Publication Fund grants recommended by the Committee of Papers to three papers to be published in Philosophical Transactions: by Professor Cash and Dunstan, by Mr. G. J. Burch and by Mr. A. E. Tutton.
3. An additional Ordinary Meeting of the Royal Society appointed by Officers to present results of the Solar Eclipse Expedition.
4. Objections from the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee on the publication of Eclipse Expedition papers in the Proceedings: arrangements to be made for near-simultaneous joint publication by the Royal Society and Royal Astronomical Society. Letter from the Secretaries, to Captain E. H. Hills, Secretary of the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee, full text entered into the minutes: on proposed arrangements for publishing the eclipse results.
5. Selection of candidates for Fellowship considered and adjourned.
6. Report of the Kew Committee presented and ordered to be pubished in Proceedings.
7. Leave granted for the return of plates and copying of illustrations.
8. Bills for electric lighting, engraving and other expenses.
