TitleCorrespondence relating to Sir John W Cornforth's Nobel Prize
Date1975 - 2000
DescriptionLarge file of correspondence from various parties. The file includes copies of Sir John Cornforth's letters of reply to those who sent him congratulatory letters following the award of the Nobel Prize in 1975. Interestingly Cornforth also filed his letters of congratulation to later winners, including John Vane FRS in this file. In addition to this there are a considerable number of letters concerning Cornforth's nominations for other scientists to be awarded the Nobel, as well as letters from various organisations and freelance writers, keen to have support from Nobel Laureates. An attempt has been made to sort some of the correspondence into alphabetical order, however this task appears not to have been completed.
