DescriptionContains loose manuscript notes and calculations on 'Nuclear Vibration', including notes on 'Peierls Thouless method for oscillator model', 'Projection for an oscillator', 'Greens function method'. With correspondence between David J. Thouless and Professor R.E. Peierls of the University of Birmingham, dated 20 June 1961 to 16 April 1963. Also contains a printed copy of David J. Thouless' 'Vibrational States of Nuclei in the Random Phase Approximation' printed in Nuclear Physics, 22, in 1961. Gathered manuscript notes concerning a discussion of Thouless' work have also been included. An additional folder contains manuscript notes and calculations on 'Tidal wave functions'.
