being desirous of the Honour of Election into the Royal Society, we the undersign'd recommend him, on our personal Knowledge, as a Gentman of great Learning in several Branches of Literature, and as having already made several Communications to this learned Body which have been deem'd worthy of Publication in their Transactions, and therefore, if the Honour of Election is conferr'd on him, we doubt not his proving a valuable Member thereof
