Author of numerous papers on morphology, dealing especially with the Ichthyopsida & Mammalia, of which the following are the more important:-"On some points in the anatomy of the Porposie" (Journ. Anat. & Phys. Vol. XIV. P.467.) "Notes on the cranio-facial skeleton of the Sturgeon." (incorporated in Prof. W.K. Parker's Mon. in Phil. Tran. 1882 p.171.). "The Morphology of the Mammalian Coracoid" (Journ.Anat & Phys. Vol.XXI. p.190). On the skeleton& affinities of the paired fins of Ceratodus & those of the Elasmo-branchii (Proc.Zool. Soc. 1887, p.3), " On a hitherto unrecognised feature in the larynx of the Anourous Amphibia" (Ibid: p.491.) "Rabbit with an intra-narial epiglottis, with a suggestion concerning the phylogeny of the Mammalian respiratory apparatus." (Journ. Anat. & Phys. Vol. XXIII p.263.).
