Title | Parrington, Francis Rex: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Description | Certificate of Election |
Citation | Dr. Parrington is distinguished for his researches on fossil vertebrates, especially amphibians and reptiles from "Karoo" deposits of Africa. He has been responsible for many improvements in preparation-methods, and as a result has been able to elucidate very many points of interest. He has added greatly to our knowledge of the skeletal anatomy, and particularly of skull-structure, in many groups of mammal-like reptiles. His detailed descriptions of other Permian and Triassic reptiles from Africa have thrown much light on the origin of several major groups. A list of 24 titles on these and other fossils is appended. |
