TitleParrington, Francis Rex: certificate of election to the Royal Society
DescriptionCertificate of Election
CitationDr. Parrington is distinguished for his researches on fossil vertebrates, especially amphibians and reptiles from "Karoo" deposits of Africa. He has been responsible for many improvements in preparation-methods, and as a result has been able to elucidate very many points of interest. He has added greatly to our knowledge of the skeletal anatomy, and particularly of skull-structure, in many groups of mammal-like reptiles. His detailed descriptions of other Permian and Triassic reptiles from Africa have thrown much light on the origin of several major groups. A list of 24 titles on these and other fossils is appended.
