CitationSir Hugh Smithson Bart of Stannick in the County of York, a Gentleman very well versed in all Polite Literature, and skill'd in Natural knowledge, is desirous of being proposed a candidate to be Elected a Member in this Honble Society, and we who are underwritten, knowing him to be Such, and a Gentleman of Great Curiosity and merit, accordingly recommend him as one we believe very well qualified & likely to become a usefull fellow of this Society.
