Desiring the honour of being elected into this Royal Society: We do accordingly propose him, and on the knowledge we have of his merit and Learning do hereby recommend him as a Gentleman of great knowledge and reputation, well versed in most parts of Philosophy, and excellently qualified to be a usefull member of our Body.
Mr Beaufort is Author of Several Learned works, particularly a curious dissertation on the uncertainty of the Roman History, during the five first centuries of the Commonwealth.
