CitationAbbe Giovanni Battista Passeri of Pesaro in Italy, a Gentleman very desirous of the Honour of becoming a Fellow of this Royal Society. We do accordingly propose him and hereby recommend him as one of the most eminent persons of his Country for Learning and knowledge in the Greek & Roman Antiquities, and one who no less diligently applies himself to Philosophical Studies. He is the Author of Several Books greatly esteamed, and is at this time ready to publish a curious treatise upon the colours & various textures of Marble and other Stones, wherein he has prosecuted with great diligence the History of the production of those bodies, & the alterations they have undergone Since their first formation. To our Testimonial Father Gori of Florence desires to add his, in recommendation of a Gentleman every way qualified to be a usefull member of our Society.
