CitationThe Abbe Guasco a Gentleman of distinction of Piedmont and now in London, desiring to offer himself a Candidate for election into this Royal Society: We do hereby propose him, and as well upon our own acquaintance as upon his general Character and reputation recommend him as a person of merit and well qualified to be a valuable member of our body. He is besides Strongly recommended by our worthy brethren at Paris President de Montesquieu and Monsieur Buffon, he is of the Tuscan Academy of Cortona, of those of Berlin and Bordeaux, and one of the four foreign members of the Royal Academy of Inscriptions and Belle Lettres at Paris, in which he has been distinguished by receiving three consecutive Annual Prises.
