We, whose names are hereunto subscribed, do testify on our personal knowledge, that He is a Gentleman exceedingly well versed in Natural History, to the extension of which, he has already contributed liberally, that he is also well qualified by his general knowledge in Natural & Experimental Philosophy to become an Useful & Valuable Member of this Society, And We therefore recommend him accordingly for that honor
