CitationAuthor of an "Essay on Terrestrial and Cosmical Magnetism," to which the Adams Prize in the University of Cambridge was adjudicated in the year 1865. Distinguished for his Mathematical and literary attainments, having been eighth Wrangler on the Mathematical Tripos of 1844, and for some time a Fellow and Assistant Tutor of Trinity College, Cambridge. Attached to physical science, and anxious to promote its progress.
