Has for a long time, been devoted to the study of the higher branches of applied Mathematics.
Is the author of a Treatise on the elements of Geometry, 1871,
a treatise on the Kinetic Theory of Gases, and, in conjunction with Mr S H Burbury, a treatise on the application of generalized coordinates to the Kinetics of a material system.
Has contributed papers to the Quarterly Journal Mathematics on Differential Equations, the motion of a particle referred to moving space, and other subjects.
